Al Gurley has served with Interaction since 1996 and coordinates the CCTECC program which annually places student teachers at overseas schools. In addition, he also serves as the Family Life Director for Interaction with special emphasis on pre-marital and marital counseling. He is available as a speaker at youth and family life conferences as well as for mentoring and accountability counseling.
Al Gurley brings over 30 years of counseling and experience working with youth to these roles.
He served as a junior high math teacher at an inner city school in Washington, D. C. and has graduate training in social work. In addition, he was youth pastor at Elmwood Presbyterian Church and co-founder and teaching elder at Trinity Fellowship in Syracuse, NY. Al also served as Director of a country residence (Booth House) for runaway and homeless teenagers, and as administrator and counselor at Crossway Counseling Center in Syracuse. Prior to joining Interaction, he served as the Campus Pastor at Houghton College in Houghton, NY.
Al and his wife, Sylvia, have been married for 41 years with six children and seven grandchildren.
