Cross-Cultural Experience: Most of the couples counselling I have done has been with bi-national couples, which has given me considerable insight into the issues which often arise.  Having moved to Germany myself some years ago, I still recall dealing with the feelings of isolation and struggling at times with some of the cultural differences, not to mention a new language.  These experiences gave me personal insight into the difficulty of becoming established in a foreign country and they continue to influence my work as a counsellor.  My German is now fluent and I work in both English and German languages.
